Used Lubricating Oil (ULO) is generated from finished lubricants that must be replaced after use. While some large re-refiners collect ULO from generators, most ULO is collected by independent gatherers that then re-market the collected ULO to end buyers. Total annual US finished lubricant volume is approximately 2.5 billion gallons per year with disposition as shown below (gallons in millions).
